First Nations and Non-First Nations gathered in Prince Rupert this past weekend for the Salmon Nation Summit. They celebrated unity in the fight against Liquified Natural Gas giant Petronas, a Malaysian owned LNG corporation attempting to build a massive export facility on Flora Bank near Lelu Island, at the mouth of the Skeena River. One of the largest and most productive salmon habitats in the world.
It began with more than 300 people packing into the Highlander Hotel conference centre. It ended with the historic signing of the Lelu Island Declaration.
Here is a preview of images from the two day summit.
